From cafeteria with love

Some people deserve a place in hell. Today I am going to tell a story about such person. I don't know the name of this person yet I believe he deserves a very special place in hell and he should suffer for what he had done.

This happened approximately 17 years ago. I had started my corporate job. It was in a big multinational company. While I was working there was a mass communication sent to all employees. I was someone who built always ignore the mask communication but this was something which could not be ignored.

We were all working quietly in our office space. Suddenly one of my colleague got up from his place and said, "what the hell! Guys check your email quickly. I think this mail would soon very cold but you need to read it." After hearing this I quickly opened my inbox. I saw an email with the subject line "goodbye". The centre was the distribution group of cafeteria. I was confused why this email had to be referred to. I had presumed that it came from the cafeteria operators informing that the cafeteria vendor was soon to be changed because of the increasing complaints. It happened to be anything but that. My heart was pounding but still I clicked on that email.

It was from an ex employee. He had sent that email using the mailbox of the cafeteria operators. He had initially mentioned that he was leaving the company, how grateful he was for the opportunities that he had received, and how he was going to miss the team. The email till here was normal and then everything after that was very unusual and inaropriate. He had mentioned the full name and employee ID of a girl. He had mentioned that he was in love with the girl but she did not reciprocate the feelings. He was leaving the organisation because of that girl. He had even mentioned in that email "I love you".

I found that this was a low blow. I found it disgusting that a man cannot take rejection from a girl and besides to shame her on a company platform. He had intentionally given the name and the employee ID of the girl so that people would contact her and ask her what had happened. He had miss used the email of cafeteria operator to send a mass communication to the entire office. The offences that he had committed were endless. Every offence was worse than its predecessor.

Well I had read that email and it made me fume with anger. Everybody in the office was discussing that however within next 10 minutes the email was recalled by the communication team. Another email both sent saying that an employee had somehow received the access to the cafeteria mailbox and had miss used it. No action could be taken against him because he has already left the organisation and even left the company premises. This was a major security concern. Later we got to know that the girl also had left the organisation because of the damage to her reputation.

In my opinion this situation was really atrocious towards the girl he had mentioned. He insured that the reputation of that girl would get completely destroyed because of his act. There were many unsurd questions about this: how did he get the access to the cafeteria mailbox? Did someone in the cafeteria handling group was on board with him in this plan? How disgusting his character must be shame a girl on a company platform only because she rejected his advances?

This entire incident became a lore in the corporate world. Just like me there are only a few who had witnessed this incident. Wherever I go I always narrate this incident because I want that man to be identified and he should be punished for what he had done.

Even today when I am narrating the story I am still angry at that man. Even today I believe that this man deserves a special place in hell.
