Fashion advice

Ganesh Chaturthi is just around the corner. It is one of the biggest festivals in Maharashtra. Ganesh Chaturthi is a festival that is close to me because of emotional and spiritual reasons. Whenever we talk about any festival we definitely think about the fashion (yes, women have fashion on priority).

Recently I got a dress stitched especially for Ganesh Chaturthi. Today I was trying to see which Dupatta would go with that dress. I took out the box in which I store the design of dupattas. I placed each Dupatta on the dress to see which one fits better. After going through everything I finally shortlisted two dupattas. But I was confused which one looks better.

First I asked my mother but she too was not confident of her choice. "Why don't you ask your friends?" She suggested. It definitely was a great suggestion and I trust my friends to have a good sense of fashion.

I collect the picture of the dress with the two shortlisted dupattas. I posted the picture on our friends group. I request asked my friends to provide their opinion. Within a couple of minutes my inbox started flooding with the messages.

"Where are you going, girl?" Sarika asked me.

"You are going without me? Katti," Madhu being her usually mischievous self. I smiled while reading her text.

"Pretty dupattas by the way. Promise me you will let me borrow them for my cousin's wedding" wrote Aabha.

I was really enjoying reading the conversation on the friends group. But I still had not received the answer to my questions. I decided to bring there attention to the burning question.

"Ladies, let us focus on the question. Please cast your votes for either option 1 or 2," I tried the formal method which I knew they are going to find funny.

In next half an hour I had my friends votes. They had decided the politics and had told me which Dupatta I should wear with the dress. Along with their votes I had there lovely and funny remarks.

"With this dupatta you will look like a film star" Madhu wrote.

"This dress and dupatta are divine. I cannot believe it is not a designer piece" Aabha wrote.

"Shine brighter girl. You will rock this look" Sarika mentioned.

"Oh my heroine, you will take the breath away," Madhu added once again.

I was reading they text and smiling to myself. I was grateful that they had provided their opinion and help me with my dilemma. Yet there remarks had been equally hilarious. The way they were hyping me was really pleasant. After receiving their texts I really felt that I was blessed with a good friend circle. Group of friends who not only were kind but also helping those in trouble. I knew they were my people to whom I can approach for any advice.

They say 'women hate women' or 'women are jealous of each other' but my experience is totally different. I see that women help women. I love how the women come together to help another woman. This is the beauty of Womanhood and female friendships.
