Everything Felt Too Loud
There are some days when nothing particularly bad happens, but everything still feels like too much. That was the kind of day I had recently. I woke up normally, followed my usual routine, and there was no big problem waiting for me. Still, as the day continued, I started feeling irritated by the smallest things.
At first, I did not understand why.
Someone talking loudly felt annoying. Notifications on my phone felt louder than usual. Even when people were simply having a normal conversation around me, I felt like there was too much happening at the same time. I just wanted everything to become quiet for a few minutes.
The strange part was that nobody was actually doing anything wrong. People were talking, laughing, calling each other, and going about their normal day. The problem was probably not the noise itself. I think I was already tired, and because of that, everything started feeling more intense than usual.
I tried to ignore it. I checked my phone, listened to some music, and tried to focus on other things. But even music, which usually helps me relax, started feeling like more noise. I kept changing songs because nothing felt right. I opened different apps, but looking at my phone was not helping either. Every notification felt like one more thing asking for my attention.
That was when I realised I probably needed silence.
I went to my room and closed the door. I put my phone away and just sat there for a while. At first, I could still hear different sounds from outside, but slowly, the room started feeling quieter.
There was no music playing. No one was asking me a question. No notifications were constantly appearing. For a few minutes, I did not have to respond to anything.
It felt much better than I expected.
I think we do not always realise how much noise we are surrounded by every day. There is always something playing in the background. Our phones are constantly making sounds. People are talking, traffic is moving, and social media is showing us hundreds of things within a few minutes.
Even when we are physically quiet, our minds can still feel busy.
Sometimes we are listening to a conversation while thinking about something else. At the same time, we might be checking our phone, worrying about something we have to do later, and trying to remember something important. We may not notice how much information our minds are dealing with until everything suddenly feels overwhelming.
That day made me understand that sometimes we need to step away from everything before we become completely exhausted. We do not always need a big vacation or a major break. Sometimes we just need an hour without conversations, screens, or anything demanding our attention.
I did not completely solve the problem by sitting quietly for a while. My responsibilities were still there, and people did not suddenly stop making noise forever. But when I went back outside later, I felt more patient.
The same sounds were still there, but they did not bother me as much.
I think taking a small break helped my mind catch up with everything. Sometimes we keep going even when we are tired because we think stopping is unnecessary. But a little quiet time can make more difference than we expect.
By the end of the day, everything felt normal again. I talked to people, checked my phone, and continued with my usual routine. But I was glad that I had taken some time for myself instead of forcing myself to keep going.
Maybe the world had not actually become louder that day.
Maybe I had simply reached a point where I needed a little quiet.
And sometimes, a quiet room can feel like the biggest relief.
sometimes all you neeed is a moment of peace with yourself
sometimes world isn’t too loud we’re simply carrying too much inside us a little silence can be the resets our mind needs before facing everything again
