Emotions vs practicality

Me and my friend Priya had gone for breakfast. We got our food and sat down at the table. I looked at Priya. She looked upset and distressed. This was the time when a woman to woman conversation was needed.
"Are you all right? Are you feeling well?" I asked.
Priya looked at me. She knew that I had sensed that something was bothering her. She decided to come clean, "I had an argument with Ravi. It has been going on for a few days but now that is affecting me. I really do not like arguing with him because most of the time he is right".
"May I ask you what it is if it is not personal," I did not want to get into their personal matters.
" No I think your opinion would be really important in this," Priya said further, " it is about my delivery. It still has a time but many things need to be decided right now. I really account on your opinion".
" Go ahead. I am all ears," I leaned forward.
" Currently I am visiting a gynac who is Ravi's relative. She is very well experienced. She is operating from a hospital near my house. I am really happy with her assessment and the way she is treating me," she explained.
I was still unable to understand the problem. " So exactly what is bothering you?" I asked clearly.
"You know the ritual. For the delivery a daughter goes to her mother's home and stays there. Ravi is not agreeing. He said that I should not go," Priya's voice cracked.
This was unlike Ravi. He was not a controlling type of person. He was rational. It was unbelievable. "Why would he do that? Did he you tell you?" I asked.
" He said that I am getting the best care from my gynecologist. We have good hospitals near my home. Near my mother's home there is no adequate care. She stays just in the outskirts of the city. He asked me the other day that what I would do if there is an emergency. He is thinking in a very practical manner and asking me to ignore the emotional aspects. He give me another option as well. He told me that I should ask my mother to come stay with us. This way I will get best of both the worlds" she mentioned.
I completely agreed with Ravi's stand. Availability of emergency care was more important than emotional aspects. Also he had provided a fair option so that Priya would not miss anything. " I think Ravi is thinking in away that would benefit you and the baby. It is in your best interest. Priya you should really listen to him. Your emotions are valid but right now it is important to think about all the possibilities and come up with practical approaches. There are still few months for your delivery. It is better to deliver the baby in a safe or environment than in uncertain conditions. Give a serious thought. If you ask my opinion I am on Ravi's side" I explained.
" As much as I am thinking I am coming to the same conclusion. I think he is right," Priya looked relieved.
It is really important to think practically instead of following your heart.

Ravi is right at this point from what you told me...and for a solution, we can ask the girls mother to come and stay at Ravi and his wife's home
