My friend Shubha once asked me why I like Miley Cyrus. It was a simple question, but it made me reflect a lot.

I was a teenager then I first watched the show Hannah Montana. When are you started watching it within few minutes I was completely hooked. I like how they had to treat the life of a teenager who is an ordinary girl (Miley Stuart) in her day to day life but when she goes on the stage she is a famous singer and performer (Hannah Montana). I enjoyed how they had shown her day to day life and how she struggles to hide her secret identity as the most famous popstar. The reason that I like the show was because of the protagonist who was none other than Miley Cyrus (now known as Miley).

I liked my lease Disney Channel image. It was age appropriate, squeaky clean, sweet, and relatable. Seeing Miley apart from her show was a pleasure for me. I always felt that during the interactions or interviews she came across as a simple, sweet, and genuine person. Despite achieving Fame in the Teenage she still appeared grounded. As a teenager myself I was loving her style and outfits of her Hannah Montana era. I remember I wound try styling a lot of outfits just like how she would dress in the series. I remember buying a cropped jacket which was the trend of early 2000 and scene mainly in the series Hannah Montana.

Later we saw the era of Miley that nobody was prepared for. She had just entered adult worth and she had been trying to shade the image that was created by Disney. She was making bold choices for her outfits. Her style of performance had also changed. A lot of Criticism was targeted towards her. But being a lawyer fan I still felt that she had not diverted from her path. She was still a passionate artist in my eyes.

Then we saw the 'Wrecking ball'. Miley was criticized for her appearance and actions in the music video. Yet I was really impressed with the lyric and the artist take player of the song. I felt deeply connected with the lyric which describe her breakup. I was able feel her pain that she had describe in the song. I felt moved by her vocals in the song. I knew that she was going to rise from it.

Then came her happy ballad that was Malibu. I listen to that song I felt that myly has finally found her happiness. But unfortunately it was short lived. Then came the midnight sky and flowers which were telling a story that she had move on from her past life and feeling stronger with the experiences.

With her music I always felt that I was one of the witnesses of Miley's journey. I saw her grow right in front of my eyes through various media. I felt as if I saw her rise, fall, and rise to fame again. I felt like I was deeply connected with her journey at each and every phase. Miley was not just an artist for me; she was the face of struggle of the teenage and adulthood for me.

I know that she does not know that I exist but I still pray for her happiness and success.
