It was Friday. My regular blog went live at 6 pm. This blog was about a hone remedy for insect bite. According to me it was really easy, quick, and effective.
As soon as it got live, I shared the link of the blog with my friend and family groups. I felt that everyone will get benefitted from this information. Within next 30 minutes I started receiving reactions.
"Good content. Keep it up" wrote Vidya, my cousin.
"Awesome remedy buddy. This will be useful," wrote Sahil, my cousin.
"Great stuff coming from a healthcare professional. Keepit up," Nisha, my friend texted me.
I had been receiving amazing reactions from all groups. Ibwas getting congratulated on putting a scientific content in easy terms for the benefit of masses. While receiving praise, I received one text on the group chat.
"Have you wrote it?" My friend Ila asked.
"Yes", I replied thinking it was a surprised friend asking me.
"Have you wrote it yourself?" Ila asked again.
I was confused. I could not see a need to ask the question again. I replied, "as I said earlier, yes".
"That is unbelievable," Ila texted again on the group chat.
"What is hard to believe?" I could not understand. The content was clear. The evidences were linked to the original sources from medical journals. Everything was right in front.
"It is unbelievable that you wrote it. It is very unlike you", Ila replied.
My confusion and frustration was growing with each passing second. I was still not able to understand what she meant by those texts. I replied with what I thought was clever, "I have a lot of hidden talents, writing is one of them". I added a blushing emoji to not sound too proud.
"All right who helped you. I know you did not do this all by yourself. Who is the ghost writer? Spill the beans," Ila had still not moved on from the topic.
Now I was getting irritated. It was disrespectful slandering my talent in front of a group, "there is no ghost writer. It is all me. I take it as a compliment that you find it polished. Thank you". I decided to end the discussion right there.
Next week, on Monday Ila approached me in the office. She brought up the topic herself, "cut the chase and tell me who wrote it. I know you did not write it".
I was angry but this point. I kept my voice down and said, "I wish I had confidence like you. You have the audacity to tell me that I got my blog written from someone else. I have nothing to explain anything to you," I went back to my work.
"Just cut it. You are not talented. I want justice for the person who did the hard work. I cannot let you snatch their credit" Ila was accusing me of stealing someone's work.
"Ila, like I said I am not explaining anything to you. I will let you live in your delusions. By your behavior I can tell you that you know nothing about me. I would suggest that you channelise your anger at the right place and the right issue. You may actually become a good activist", I replied while looking straight at her.
I would not allowed anybody to be disrespectful towards me and get away with that. Ila left angrily from my desk swearing that she will get to the bottom of the issue she herself created. I wished her the best.
