Chrismas card

Today I was going through my Souvenir box. I was going through that not because I wanted to throw anything but I wanted to see what I have kept in my box. In away I wanted to relive the memories. I was checking every item that was placed neatly in my box. I was reading through every letter that I had received. I was checking the names on friendship bands which were faded. Reading every card that I had received. While doing so I stumbled upon a greeting card. This card was a dressed to me and was mailed at my office address. I tried to remember who that was from before opening it. I could not recall when I had received, it who had sent it, and for what it was send to me.

I did not want to live in the suspense anymore. I opened the envelope and took out the card. It was a 4 by 6 sized greeting card. It was a red and green. It was a painting of Christmas time. It should that the shops were decjed with classic Christmas wreaths and chrismas trees. The lights were placed all over the shops and trees. It was a night scene yet it was vibrant. It pictures the snowy night around Christmas time. Silhouetes of people walking, running, pacing, but still appearing happy. The picture said a thousand words. Just looking at created a familuar warmth. Yet I was still not able to recall who could have send it to me. I opened the card to find out that it was sent by Pete.

Just buy reading that name it transported me 15 years back in time. It was the first organisation I was working with. Pete was our stakeholder. We would speak with him almost every week during our conference call. Pete was very friendly. During one of our conference calls Pete informed us that he was planning to visit us within next three four months. We were excited but at the same time little frightened. Be definitely wanted to meet the person whom we had been speaking every week. At the same time facing a person at such a hyposition was a scary idea.

As promised Pete came to meet us in the month of September. Pete was tall and athletic. He informed us that he had served in military and that explained his athletic build. Pete continue with his friendly conversations during his visit. Never for a single moment made us feel uncomfortable. Indeed it was a memorable visit.

3 months after visit to India it was the Christmas time. I was sitting at the desk working on my deliverable. I received a call from the reception. They asked me to come there collect the mail that I had received. I was surprised because I had not given my office address to anyone and hence I was not expecting to receive anything there. Puzzled I visited the reception collect the mysterious package. They had given me and envelope with my name and office address written on it. I opened it to see that it was a Christmas card from Pete. A warm smile lit up my face.

Yesterday when I looked at that card I remember everything. Brief memories put a smile on my face and made my day memorable again.
