AI feedback

AI feedback

I work as a freelance educator with an education Technology platform. With each training session conducted now be received a feedback that is generated by AI. There is absolutely no human intervention for this AI feedback. For a session that I recently conducted I received and AI feedback. I take feedbacks positive. I always look for the room for improvement. I opened this AI feedback only to be disappointed.

The feedback told me that I did not interact with the student as per the expectations. The feedback gathered more around not correcting the student for their grammatical mistakes. In reality in my training I was told that we should not be correcting the grammatical errors of the participants. I followed what I was told in the training but I received contradictory feedback. Anyway I made a note of it.

Second feedback that I had received from the AI suggested that I did not clarify the requirements of the training from the parent of the student. In reality it was not done during the training but before arranging the training session for the student. Before arranging the training session I had a detailed discussion with the parent where I had clarified the requirements for the training. We had spoken at length hence I had skipped that part during the training. Also previously I had received a feedback suggesting that previous time of the training was wasted because of clarifying the requirements which should have done before the training. So again here I see a contradiction between two various feedbacks. Still point taken for the action.

Next point that was mentioned in the feedback whats that the discussion with the parent was unclear. Now here it's something interesting. Mrs Sharma the parent of the student had specifically told me that she is not comfortable speaking in English. She had told me that she would prefer speaking in Hindi. As per her situation I had proceed it with the discussion with her in Hindi. So again I take this feedback action item to be invalid.

The next point on the feedback was that I had not taken the follow up questions. In reality the follow of questions over definitely taken but they were in Hindi and not in English. Mrs Sharma had asked me several questions and I had answered each and every question. But as the discussion was in Hindi I understand it was not understood by the AI agent. This action item hence I had negated.

Last point of the feedback was that I had asked closed ended questions more than the open ended questions. Ideal number of the questions that should have been asked were 20 whereas I had asked over 50 questions. Of the 50 questions that I had asked 30 questions were open ended questions. However AI had only taken into consideration the 20 initial questions which were close ended questions. So again not my fault. IM reality I have asked more open ended questions than the close ended questions.

As I closed the feedback page I was disappointed. In my opinion I had given a good quality training session. The quality was appearing inferior because of the judgement of AI. I believe a human intervention definitely was a required here. Because if it was reviewed by a human they would have understood the nuances of the situation. But I know that it would not be reviewed by the human. If I am interviewed by the humans about this I do have unsurs ready with me which will beat the AI.

I agree...AI sometimes is not too accurate and not reliable as it is being marketed
