"Acting brave at first"

AnonymousJun 20, 2026501 words

The day I left home for the hostel, I told everyone that I was excited. I smiled, I carried my bags, and actesd as if I was completely ready for the new chapter. Deep down, though, I was more nervous than I wanted to admit. I still remember the climate change from my home town to the place where I study and stay. It's a 9hrs of journey from my home town.

After I joined in my college while my parents returning back I saw the tears in their eyes and I controlled mine to console them.

At first everything was new, the college, the hostel, the place, the people arround, the language and as I'm a introvert took me 1 and half year to settle down and adjust to the environment and surroundings.

I still remember the sound of tears of my mom that she made when she call me at night and the sorrow in me that I miss her and the tears that I've controlled.

At the first night Hostel everything was okay and many more questions raised in my head like...why Am I here??? For what I came here?? Why the distance is so high...and what's the purpose??

I missed my home, my parents, friends and neighbours, my family, my home town, and I thought all these are for only because of my good studies!

I remembered then " No pain No gain!"

So from them I started motivating my self to be good, healthy and better marks for my future so on...

At first everything was weird and the I was unable to adjust with the people here....I was from different place and there people are from other. It takes me lot of time to adjust. Even the studies and the classes, topics, lecturers.everything takes time to get adjusted.

I'll be going home once in a month and that feel is simply heaven. It cannot be explained in one word or in a sentence.

At the same time the sadness while coming back to the hostel. In one point view its really a tough task.

I've completed my 2 years in my 4years course still 2 more years are pending.

The college experience is different compared to the school life. But nothing beats our School life it's built different obviously. The fights, the miss understanding between friends, scoldings from our teachers so on....

Coming to the food it's completely different which I don't like eating the rice 2-3 times in a day which is completely odd for me as I intake the rice only once in a day. Fought for that but no use, asusual menu. Adjusted!

The only reason I'm staying here cuz, it's a government college and I got the free seat and this have a ICAR certification which the private institutes doesn't.

Even now I don't like to stay here ...but my future makes me to stay!

All because of my good future.

Everything happens for a reason!

And I believe in that.
