A time I doubted myself and what I learned From it.

There was a time in my life when I started doubting myself a lot. It wasn’t just about one big moment, but a phase where I keep questioning my ability, my decisions and even my future. I often feel like I was not doing enough even when I was trying my best.

One of the main areas where I experienced self doubt was my studies and personal growth. There was moments when i would look at others and feel like they were doing better, faster or more confident than me. Instead of focusing on my own progress, I started comparing myself. That comparison slowly made me lose confidence in my own abilities.

I remember feeling stuck many times. Even when i wanted to do better, I would overthink simple things like whether i was good enough, or I would be able to achieve better what i wanted in life. This created a cycle where I would hesitate to start things, and then feel worse for not starting them.

At the time, I realised that self doubt was not about ability, but also about manset. I was being too harsh on myself. I expected instant result and perfection, which was not realistic. Because of that, even small mistake felt like failure to me.

Slowly, I started observing my thoughts instead of believing every negative feeling immediately. I began to understand that just because i feel something about myself does not make it true. Thoughts are not always facts. I also started breaking things into small steps instantly of thinking about everything at once. I focus on small task that could actually complete. This helped me like a bit more in control and less overwhelmed. Even small achievements stared to feel meaningful again.

Another important realisation was that everyone has their onw pace in life. Just because someone seems confident and successful on the outside does not mean they do not struggle at all. This helped me reduce the habit of comparing myself with others.

Over time, I stated rebuilding my confidence slowly. It did not happen suddenly but through small efforts like showing up for myself, trying again after setbacks and reminding myself that growth takes time.

I also learned that self doubt is not always negative in a way it shows that I care about my future. What to do better, but the important thing is not let it control my action or stop me from trying.

Now, when i feel doubtful, i try to pause instead of reacting immediately. I think about the process I have made instant of only noticing how far I still have to go. This help helped me become more patient and kinder to myself.

Looking back, i I understand that building confident is a continuous process. It grow through experience and self believe rather than perfection. There will always be moments of uncertainty, but I know that they do not define me. Every step i take , every lesson i learn and every challenge I overcome adds to my confidence.

I now believe that process is More important than perfection, and as long as I keep moving forward, I’m always succeeding.

I know this feeling very well. In my life when I compared myself with others, I would always feel that I am not progressing. Whereas in reality we should compare our present selves to our past selves to see how much we have grown.
