A quick visit to mall

Diwali is just around the corner. I still had a lot of gifts to be bought. I had specifically selected Monday morning of the week of Diwali. The reason was simple : Monday is the working day, so there will be less crowd. Also, if anybody wishes to shop on Monday, they would go in the evening because Monday morning is always busy.
My plan was full proof. I had the list ready. I had to go to the mall, visit the specific shop, visit the specific aisles, grab the gifts, pay, and return. I had calculated everything as if I was on a high profile military operation where I was required to move with precision.
Anyway, I revealed my plan to my mom. Looking at her face I knew she wanted to join. When I asked, her face lit up. So it was the two of us, a woman in 30s and another in 60s on their way to the mall.
As we entered the premise of mall, I saw that the mall was ready for Diwali. The entrance had a huge statues of elephants. I must say, those elephants looked majestic. At the entrance, the artists had created a huve peacock. It was breathtaking. I am surprised to see that it was made out of fabric. It was beautifully crafted. I admired the craft, before moving ahead.
We entered the mall and saw that it was spotless clean. Not a single speck of dust anywhere. The shops were putting up the decor for Diwali. "These guys are so unprepared. Else look at us, we put up the decorations yesterday itself", I told my mother with pride, informing her that we were so ahead of the time. I patted my own back with words.
Then we entered the supermarket where I wanted to buy gifts. I first visited the aisles which were important to me. When I had bought everything I wanted, I decided to venture into other aisles. Yet, I had made a promise to myself that I would not buy anything unnecessary.
Then there was a discount clothing aisle. I entered that aisle, thinking that I will buy something only if it is at a good price. I saw a tshirts. Its fabric was soft, cozy, and comfortable. Before seeing the design, I saw the cost. It was for rs 199, so I decided to see the design. The design was about coffee. It screamed as if it was made just for me. I could not resist and I put it in the cart. Looking at the price, I did not feel guilty. Rather it was a steal deal for me.
Then I found another design from the same range that would have been appropriate for my sister. I bought that too to be gifted to her on Diwali. I went to the counter and paid.
While exiting the mall, I felt a sence of happiness and serenity. I felt festive in my heart. My mom was happy too. A quick trip to mall felt like a quick dopamine boost.
That is when I decided that I would visit the mall at least once in a month. And I will take my mom with me.
